butter London Nail Lacquer-Vernis in Victoriana

I've had this beautiful butter London Nail Lacquer sitting on my vanity for several weeks and just forgot about it.  I finally had a chance to use it last week and I'm glad I did.  I bought this one at Ulta when they were having a special, buy 2 get the 3rd free and then I used my coupon.

What Ulta's website says about the product:

DescriptionColour, not Carcinogens. No formaldehyde, No toluene, No DBP, Not animal tested,

DirectionsApply one to two coats. For best results use with Nail Foundation and Hardware.

Victoriana is a gorgeous shade of teal with specks of pewter glitter in it.  They are tiny specks and you can't feel the glitter, it's smooth.  This polish lasted 4 days on my nails before it started wearing off on the tips of my nails.  I did use a base and top coat but it wasn't butter LONDON'S it was a Sally Hansen one I'm testing out...the top coat's obviously not going to make the cut.

MAYBELLINE COLORSensational Lip Color in Warm Me Up

Lately I've been coo-coo crazy for Nude tones of makeup, whether it be eyeshadows, blushes or lip products.  If it's nude or natural toned I'm drawn to it and end up buying it.  While grocery shopping sans the munchkins I had time to browse the makeup aisle and picked up this lipstick from MAYBELLINE.  It's from their COLORSensational line in the color Warm Me Up.  They are available in 48 shades.

This is what MAYBELLINE says about their product:

Why You'll Love It

Fall in love with color, all over again:
• Crisper color from pure pigments
• Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar
• Lipcolor so rich, so stunning…it’s sensational
• 54 captivating shades

For Best Results

Apply your lipcolor by starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

Awards

Glammy Award for Best Products of 2009: Germany
CEW Award for Best Lip Product at Mass: US

Warm Me up is a rosy nude color.  It has a sheen to it but not sparkly or super glossy.   It feels very moisturizing.  It has a hint of vanilla scent and it lasted on my lips for about 2hrs.

Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in Indigo Night

I have previously reviewed one other Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail enamel, you can see it here.  This is the second shade of blue that I picked up from the collection at my local grocery store.  My favorite color is blue, so you will probably notice that I will review lots of nail polishes in that color family.

Here is what Revlon says about the product:

Colorstay nail color formula is fortified with unique ingredients that provide high impact color and gel-like shine in fashion forward range of shades and finishes. This technology is based on a unique combination of resin and high molecular weight polymers designed to provide flexible, shatterproof color with excellent color retention and gloss.

Available in 32 shades.

Indigo Night is the most gorgeous shade of blue.  It's very bold and bright.  The swatches above are with two coats of polish.  No base or top coat was used.  I can get 5 days wear without base or top coat, but Revlon says you can get 11 days wear if you use their Colorstay base and top coat.  I don't own those so I haven't tried to see if the claim is accurate.  Hmmm, maybe something I will try in the future.

Make Up For Ever La Bohéme Spring 2012 Collection

I have eagerly been awaiting the launch of this collection and was not disappointed when it was delivered today.  This limited edition collection is available from Sephora for online purchase only.  Sephora is the exclusive beauty retailer for this product. The collection contains a six eye shadow palette, two Rouge Artist Natural lipsticks, and one Aqua Eyes eyeliner.  This is my initial thoughts of the products I will update this post with a full review after I've had a chance to test out the products.

What Sephora says about the product:

La Bohème Baked Eye Shadow Palette
What it is:
A palette featuring baked eye shadows in six pearly shades for creating a range of soft, romantic looks.

What it does:
Enriched with mineral powders and a high concentration of pearl, La Bohème Baked Eye Shadow Palette includes luminous shades with a lightweight texture and a silky feel. Apply dry for a natural-looking result or wet to intensify the color and finish.

This set contains:
- 6 x 0.017 oz Baked Eye Shadow in Lagoon Green, Vegetal Green, Beige, Parma Purple, Brown, Coral

 Dry swatches

Wet swatches

I really love the colors in this palette, especially when they are applied wet.  Lagoon Green is a beautiful shimmering turquoise and appears to have golden flecks.  Vegetal Green is a gorgeous golden olive shimmer.  Beige is shimmering nude, the perfect highlighting color.  Parma Purple is a vibrant medium purple with iridescent flecks.  Brown is shimmering bronzed brown and Coral is peachy color with silver flecks in it.

What Sephora says about the product:
La Bohème Rouge Artist Natural
What it is:
A collection of limited-edition, light-coverage lipsticks with a soft, shiny finish.

What it does:
Rouge Artist Natural's ultra creamy formula hydrates the lips with a natural sheen. Enriched with nourishing properties, its smooth texture glides on effortlessly and its colorful pigments compliment the lips with a transparent finish. These fresh and romantic shades add the perfect touch to your favorite spring look.

I love the packaging on these lipsticks!

The colors are absolutely gorgeous.  Boheme is a gorgeous iridescent light peach color.  Folk is a bright coral pink, it's my favorite new lipstick!

What Sephora says about this product:

La Bohème Aqua Eyes
What it is:
An award-winning, waterproof, smudge-proof, and fade-proof eyeliner that doubles as a vibrant eye shadow.

What it does:
Now available in a rich brown, matte-finish formula, this bestselling eyeliner has become a favorite among all women who fear the dreaded raccoon eyes. Formulated to glide on effortlessly and withstand the most extreme conditions, it stays put on eyelids without melting for precise application and intense color throughout the day.
What else you need to know:
The La Bohème Collection comes beautifully wrapped in limited-edition packaging. Aqua Eyes is available in extensive range of 25 vibrant shades. Fun Fact: Dany Sanz originally created this product for performers of water ballet.

Gypsy is a matte dark brown.  I love MUFE Aqua Eyes eyeliners so I'm sure I won't be disappointed with this one.

I'm so happy with all of the colors in this collection, now lets hope the wear time is good to.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 4 & 14 Review and Swatches

I will be going to a Military Ball with my husband next week and I saw two eye looks I might want to try for that night.  http://www.bowsandcurtseys.com/2011/12/demure-drama.html and http://themoonmaiden-blix.blogspot.com/2011/12/gold-blue-and-black-dramatic-makeup.html. These ladies have great talent!  I wanted to merge both looks but not quite as dramatic.  I needed an eyeliner with multi color glitter and I knew MUFE had great aqua liners so I popped into Sephora inside JcPenny(thank you to my brother and sis in law for the gift card) and picked these two colors up.  I will be using the black one for my look but the green one looked like so much fun I had to get it.

What Sephora says about the product:
Aqua Liner
What it is:
A waterproof liquid eyeliner.

What it does:
Rich in polymers, this superior eyeliner offers an impeccable hold that guarantees water-, tear-, and smudge-proof color. Its ergonomic, foam-tip applicator is designed to resemble a makeup brush handle for the quickest, easiest, and most accurate application.

What else you need to know:
This product is fragrance free and ophthalmologist tested.

#4 is a blue green that has matching looking glitter in it and #14 is black with multi colored glitter in it.

Here I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk on the lid, I mixed a turquoise and teal color from my Stila Daydream palette (very light application) in my crease, and dusted some Lit Cosmetics Go Golf Shimmer on top of my lid and lined with MUFE Aqua Liner in #4 Diamond Lagoon Green.

This is the look I morphed from the two mentioned above as you can see I need lots of practice! (hope I get the look in time for the ball)  I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk on my lid, Matt Smith from the Balm's Meet Matte Palette on my lid, Matt Gallagher on my crease and Matt Chung on my brow bone, then I used Lit Cosmetics Champagne Wishes Solid Glitter on my lid concentrating on the outer 2/3 and then lined with MUFE Aqua Liner in #14 Diamond Multi-color Black.

I really liked both of these MUFE Aqua Liners, the color is intense and it wore for about 10hrs on my eyes before I took it off.  Make sure you take most of the product off the tip before you line your inner corner because if there is too much on the tip it will get into your eye and it burns (yea that happened to me). These are the only two I own from MUFE but after using these I want more!!!!!!

New Beauty 10-Piece Test Tube with Magazine Limited Edition

My favorite magazine is New Beauty.  Mainly because it has a lot of skin and beauty advice from actual experts! I've tried their Test Tube before but this is my first purchase of the QVC New Beauty Test Tube.  I think the difference is that the products in this one are popular products that are sold on QVC.  It's a 10-Piece Test Tube filled with beauty goodies, the latest issue of New Beauty and an information booklet on all the products that are in the tube.  It sells for $29.96 here.  The magazine itself sells for $9.95 an issue and is totally worth the price.  You also get several full sized products to try so it's not a bad price at all.

This is what came in the current QVC New Beauty Test Tube.

What QVC says about the product:
What is it: The NewBeauty TestTube is a collection of some of the hottest and most in-demand products in beauty. In this tube, you'll receive the January issue of NewBeauty magazine, along with a mix of full-sized, travel-sized, and deluxe-sized samples from Mally, tarte, Kate Somerville, philosophy, Calista Tools, and more.
Who is it for: Anyone looking to sample a wide variety of fabulous beauty products at an unbelievable value.
Why it is different: The NewBeauty TestTube combines luxurious beauty products with extensive product and how-to information. NewBeauty magazine, included in the test tube, provides insider information on trends and hot topics within the beauty world via respected experts from the beauty industry.
How do I use it: This TestTube includes a booklet with instructions on how to use each product. Colors may vary.

Made in Italy/USA

Mally Volumizing Mascara
This Mascara has been a QVC Customer Choice Award Winner for two years, I wore it today and I can see why.  I will be doing a full review on this one. It's sold for $20 for one or $28 for a duo on QVC.com.

tarte emphasEYES Aqua Gel Eyeliner in Navy.
"Infused with ultra-rich pigments by way of hydrous pigmentation technology, this revolutionary vitamin-infused aqua-gel eyeliner makes defining your eyes a cinch. The formula glides on like pure silk and won't move throughout your busy day."  I will be reviewing this one.

Calista Tools Achieve 10 Styling Cream.
This styling cream (more like a lotion) has argan oil is supposed to control frizz, add shine, increase body and fullness, restores damaged hair, detangles, reduces breakage, blocks humidity and guards against heat styling.  It seems like a copy cat of it's a 10 miracle leave-in product except Calista Tools Achieve 10 has argan oil in it.   It doesn't have a strong scent so it won't mask your shampoo scent. I've used it once and wasn't impressed, I will have to use the whole bottle before I decide if I like it or not.

Nick Chavez Yucca Root Shampooing Cream.
"Formulated to cleanse, restore and provide ultimate hydration and moisture to your hair." I like the smell of this shampoo its very clean smelling and it did leave my hair very soft.  It doesn't smell girly and my husband said it smelled pretty good, so don't be surprised if your significant other sneaks a use out of it.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate
"Intensive Exfoliating Treatment clarifies and polishes skin to reveal a glowing, healthy-looking complexion after just one treatment." These also come in several sizes at QVC.com.  I will be reviewing this one as well.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
"The luxuriously rich, non-greasy cream has a whipped texture that is packed with ingredients to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.  It absorbs with exceptional penetration, leaving behind a smooth, soft finish." It is a very soft and creamy formula, I'm not a fan of the scent.  It's smells like it should go on my feet not my body .  It's a big enough size (2oz) that I will review it if it's any good. There are several sizes for sale on QVC.com as well.

philosophy field of flowers perfumed shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath.
"Philosophy has captured the essence of a filed of flowers and infused it into its 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath formula and into its ultra-rich hydrating body lotion."  I love the way this smells like peony.  If you love floral scents this one is a must try.  The body lotion contains shea butter, olive fruit oil and macadamia seed oils.  There are different sets you can buy this particular scent in on QVC as well.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum.
"Loaded with antioxidants to fight off environmental aggressors and moisture-binding ingredients to keep skin nourished and protected."  I am so excited to try this one I am currently using PCA's A&C Synergy Serum and I love it so we will see how this compares.  Review coming soon.

Be on the look out for full reviews of the products I mentioned if you are interested.
