Guerlain By Emilio Pucci Terracotta Khôl Kajal Blu Acqua: Photos, Swatches and Review

I have another item from the Guerlain By Emilio Pucci Collection to share with you, this time it is the Terracotta Khol Kajal in Blu Acqua.  I had many doubts about ordering this one because it looks so foreign to me.  I've never used an eyeliner that looks quite like this.  I don't even know if your supposed to sharpen the thing or if it keeps its shape.  We shall see I guess.  I ordered it anyway, since I had a coupon and I didn't have a liner that was the same color.

Here is what Sephora's website say's about the product:
What it is:
A mineral khôl eyeliner.

What it does:
The cult favorite Khôl Kajal returns for summer in an intense indigo blue. Apply it along the inside of the lower eyelid to enhance eyes instantly or draw a thick line along the upper lashes to add a modern sophistication.

What else you need to know:
Guerlain and Emilio Pucci have created an exceptional collaboration between the two prestigious houses that draws inspiration from summertime in Italy. The guiding motif of this second collaboration was inspired by the iconic “Winter Capri” print taken from the archives of the Italian ready-to-wear brand. Exclusively re-colored for this collection, it adds a joyful and elegant Pucci touch to the Guerlain products

The photo on the right was taken right under a white light.

All the photographs above were taken indoors and are white balanced.  No flash was used during this shoot.

Blu Acqua is a blue violet color.  It's not quite opaque on the lid, it looks rather sheer.

I'm really torn about this one, I don't hate it but I don't love it either.  It looks pretty on the water line and lower lash line when worn with a complete eye look but unfortunately it didn't last long on the water line. It blends well and applies easily without having to tug on the eye.  This did not cause my eyes to water like so many other liners do.  I love Guerlain but I'm very underwhelmed by this product.  That's not to say that it's bad but stacked up against the other reviews I've done of Guerlain products this one just doesn't feel like it measures up.  This product is looking for someone else, I wish it was me but it just wasn't meant to be.

xoxo,
Adriana

  1. When I saw the blu aqua name, I expected a blue-green shade. Curious that they picked that name for a purply liner. It has an interesting shape, and its great that it didn't bother your eyes. I may go see if it comes in any other colors.

    Thanks for the review!

  2. Anonymous, I thought the same thing, don't get the name either. I think it also comes in black.
